Moving During The Pandemic? 5 Ways To Keep Everyone Safe

Do you need to move during the era of COVID-19 worries? The good news is that you can still move your home safely and efficiently with a few modifications to your routine. Here are five tips to do just that.

1. Hire Movers. Even if you're normally one to ask friends and family over to help pack or move, you do well to hire professionals right now. First, you'll have fewer people in your home and your friends or family members will not be put at risk by working in a group and in close quarters. Secondly, professional local movers have developed — and will adhere to — the best practices to ensure no virus exposure while working.

2. Spread Out the Work. Reducing risk of coronavirus exposure means avoiding groups and working too closely together. So, instead of having friends over for a big work day, plan two or three smaller days with more targeted needs. For instance, have one or two selected friends over to pack up one room only and then repeat the following weekend to tackle another project. You won't be overwhelmed and you can limit how many people are around.

3. Provide Personal Protective Measures. When having anyone over to help prepare and on the big moving day, provide preventative measures for sanitation and hygiene. Place hand sanitizer at multiple convenient locations. Encourage everyone to wash their hands regularly and provide good, clean access to do so. Offer gloves to limit exposure to surfaces. And keep disinfecting wipes and spray handy in all bathrooms, food areas, and shared entry points.

4. Keep It Outside. Generally, outdoors is better than indoors when it comes to coronavirus risk. So, encourage everyone to spend most of their time outside. Provide food and beverage stations in the driveway or front yard so they don't congregate inside. Place chairs and put up shade so people can refresh themselves where it's safe. And open up doors and windows to let the outside air circulate in the house.

5. Take Your Time. Avoid trying to do too much too fast. When people get into a rhythm and focus on completing a task like packing or moving boxes, they tend to forget things like social distancing, good hand hygiene, or mask usage. Don't let your friends or the professional movers feel rushed or like they must push themselves. Instead, build in more time and space so that everyone can take care of their own safety first.

When you prepare in advance for everyone's safety and encourage them to think of their own health first, moving will be a pleasure even during these stressful times. Learn more about COVID-19 risks and the moving process by speaking with professional movers in your local area today.

Benefits of Placing Cars In Storage

Hi there, my name is Sandra Tycoon. When we moved across the state, we were unaware that it was impossible to park all three of our vehicles on the lot. We searched high and low for options and even considered selling our prized vintage automobile. Thankfully, a neighbor let us know about a storage facility that provided space for cars, trucks, vans and motor homes. We took our car down to the facility and selected a climate-controlled unit to help preserve its finish. The vehicle still sits there today, though we often take it out for Sunday drives. I hope to help other people discover the benefits of placing their car in storage. I will talk about the ways to prepare your car for storage and maintenance to perform when taking it back out again. Thank you.
